During the first sixteen years of my life, I learned to sleep through the night, sit up on my own, crawl, walk, count to ten, and sing my ABC’s. I learned how to write my name, pack my own lunch, and ride my bike, without the training wheels.

During the first sixteen years of my life, I learned addition, subtraction, and even algebra and geometry. I learned how to dress myself, style my own hair, and even how to drive a car.

Since reading The Happy Hedgehog, a book about a hedgehog who spends his days watching the clouds, my son has had a fascination with clouds. Throughout the summer, he has talked about how he wants to touch the clouds. Lately I’ve been studying the different parables in the Gospels. I’ve so enjoyed taking my time, walking through the history, and understanding the context of Jesus’ teaching.
