Hearts at Home

When I became a stay-at-home mom, I tried to find creative ways to cut back in all areas of our budget. I began looking at each account statement and called each company, asking for suggestions on how I could reduce our monthly bill.

We cancelled caller ID service to save $10 each month on our phone bill – and just for the asking, our cable company reduced our payment by $10 each month for a year. While there's not much wiggle room on basic utilities, phone, internet and cable services are highly competitive markets. Call with a competitor's advertised offer and you could slash up to $30 per month!
