Living with Less Contest Runner Up: Prescription Savings PDF Print E-mail
Written by Hearts at Home

altTo celebrate the release of Hearts at Home's newest book: Living With Less So Your Family Has More, by Jill and Mark Savage, we launched the Living with Less Contest in January. You can order the book at the Heart Shoppe. Below is one of the runner up winners of the contest, Cathy Davenport:

As a one-income family, sometimes it’s hard taking care of my and my kids’ health needs. We all have asthma and allergies and between the three of us we take seven daily prescriptions that have to be refilled monthly or bi-monthly.

My son also takes an over-the-counter antihistamine that averages $1 per pill. I have found that a great way to save is to visit the website of each individual medicine and look for coupons. Doing this I found $15 to $20 off coupons I can print for 3 of the 7 prescriptions as well as for the over the counter medicine. Two of the prescriptions without online coupons offer savings cards that I can request through my doctor.

This little step will save us about $420 a year using the coupons and $200 a year using the savings card. So my tip is to search online for prescription coupons and don’t be afraid to ask your doctor for savings cards.

However, if you imagine that navalwear is more practical than pretty, think again. Hannah Betts, columnist for Elle magazine, begs to differ. "Mariner chic has never been more feminine than it is this summer,"

I took my first loans when I was 20 and that supported my relatives a lot. However, I require the short term loan once again.
