It happens to me every summer. I talk with moms about it, and I think about it throughout the spring as I anticipate the transition from the school year to the summer. And yet, I hit July and find myself facing the emotions of mommy meltdown.
Why do I find myself feeling drained and exhausted during the best season of the year? It’s because I do kids 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. And if I don’t arrange for a break or find some time for myself, no one is going to give it to me.

None of us take enough time to pamper ourselves. So I thought this would be a great time to share some inexpensive ways we could do just that!
Home Facial Cleanser Recipe
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp powdered almonds
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
Combine the honey, almonds and lemon juice into a paste. Rub on your face. Rinse with plenty of warm water.

Here is a quick and tasty summertime staple:
Cut up misc. veggies- I really like fresh mushrooms, sliced (thick) zucchini, green and yellow, green peppers and onions. I've also done with grape tomatoes; just wait until close to the end until adding. Put all veggies in a bowl after cutting up into chunks and drizzle with Italian salad dressing. Grill either in aluminum foil packets or as kabobs. Takes about 10-20 minutes depending on how tender you like them. So delicious! You can also sprinkle mozzarella cheese in the foil packets right before serving to add an extra punch.

To my children, it's 84 days of freedom. To me, it's 84 days of hearing "Mom, I'm bored."
Those fun-filled or patience-testing 84 days (depending on your point of view) are also known as - summer vacation.
With Memorial Day weekend, "the unofficial start of summer" just around the corner, now is a great time for moms to plan some activities for their children as well as some time for their marriage, their friendships, and themselves.
